The Local Government

Ideato North Local Government:
The Ideato North Government area was created in 1991 under the governorship of commodore Amadi Ikwuecheghi (Ex-military Governor of Imo State) and its headquarter is at Urualla. The local government has common boundary with Aguata and Onumba South L.G.As in Anambra State at the North, at the south is with Ideato South L.G.A, at the East is with Orsu L.G.A and at the west Okigwe and Onuimo L.G.As. The Local government is the highest Industralised and one of the highest food producing Local Government in the State. Due to the fertility of the soil, farm products like yam, cassava, cocoyam, plantain, rice, including livestock are being produced in large quantity.

As a result of its bad land topography, erosion has continued to wreak great havoc in the area. The worst hit communities are Urualla, Isiokpo, Osina, Obodoukwu, Uzii, Akpulu, Umualaoma and Akokwa autonomous communities.
The council has four Judiciary setup, namely: Customary court at Awa-Izuogu and Urualla, Magistate court also at Awa-Izuogu Urualla and High court at Urualla.

It is made up of 18 autonomous communities, they are:- Urualla, Osina, Akpulu, Obodoukwu, Isiokpo, Akokwa, akwu, Umukegwu, umuiopia, umuezeaga, Owerre-Akokwa, Uzii, umualaoma, Awa-izuogu, Iheme-Izuogu , Ejezie-Izuogu, Akeme-izuogu, Uche-izuogu.
